In April of this year I attempted a self imposed 30 in 30 Challenge but didn’t make it to the finish line. Recently, lots of changes have been happening for me, causing my art to suffer a bit. That’s not to say I don’t have a zillion ideas floating around in my head, I do, but nothing has made it to the canvas. So in hopes of getting it jumped started, I have joined the September 2015 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge. To date there are over 750 artists from around the world enrolled in the challenge. In anticipation of the start of this I have collaborated with fellow artist, Margaret Schwartz to paint interpretations of master artists. Our sense is to take paintings that we have studied or seen in person and translate them into our own. We have chosen from some of the greatest artist of all time – Picasso, Matisse, O’Keeffe, Hopper, Sargent, and Monet,to name a few. Today I sketched out my first seven paintings and tomorrow, September 1st I will post the first for this challenge. Each day I will post my painting of the day. You can follow my progress, on my website – Wolf Dancer Studios – or the progress of all participating artists at Leslie Saete’s Blog. Any feedback or support you can offer is happily welcomed. It is my hope, with the support of other artist and friends that I will be able to get this done.
