I have been working on writing my artists statement… It is quite the challenge…..in the process I took time out to paint a band composition :-)….I realize that the artist statement is valuable in lots of ways. The plan

This is the start of an exercise in push and pull. I will layer on colors using 3 paint edges- hard edge, soft edge and a palette knife edge. It will be interesting to see how the same color reacts with each base color .

Understanding the concepts of colors and how they relate based on where they are in the painting and what they are next to is more work than I thought….. sometimes not thinking and just letting the canvas and colors guide you is easier….but understanding relationships certainly contributes to finishing the story.
