This is one of my favorite pieces. The relationship between colors and shapes represents how I interpret the composition, not the reality of it.
Understanding the concepts of colors and how they relate based on where they are in the painting and what they are next to is more work than I thought….. sometimes not thinking and just letting the canvas and colors guide you is easier….but understanding relationships certainly contributes to finishing the story.
Background with acrylic “wax” look made from Golden High Solid Gel Matte combined with fluid acrylics. It has a really nice texture to it . I am going to add the subject matter and then additional “wax” layers….
Floorcloths are one of my favorite art pieces to create. If you are not familiar with floorcloths- it is what I call art for the floor. Heavy weight canvas that is primed, painted, sealed and ready to be walked on. Yes, I did say walked on! Here is a recent piece that is in process.
